With over 3 million customers, Shaw Cable is one of the largest providers of Digital Phone, High-Speed Internet and broadband cable television in North America.
NTG recently helped Shaw Cable develop a “technical design document” that ensures best practices for implementing Flash Media Server (“FMS”). NTG was an integral part of the project by providing consulting services that included installation and configuration of FMS servers, the development and use of a testing tool for the Video on Demand application, and the creation of FMS Server custom code.
As a recognized leader in manufacturing space hardware subsystems for satellites and other spacecraft, COM DEV is committed to delivering products of exceptional quality to customers as quickly as possible. To accomplish this, the company must efficiently manage vital engineering support processes, including Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) required to manage changes to product designs and Material Number Requests (MNRs) to control parts procurement.
Using Adobe LiveCycle ES solutions, engineers can quickly and efficiently review ECNs to accelerate managing changes resulting from product line expansions, new customer demands, obsolescence, and other factors. MNRs – which previously required manually inputting data into as many as 50 SAP screens – are now filled in automatically, significantly reducing data entry time and errors while improving data integrity. After a project team member enters MNR data into a single, intelligent PDF form, the newly entered data is populated automatically in all back-end systems.
As a result, the combined savings from the more automated ECN and MNR processes are impressive. “By moving to Adobe LiveCycle ES and working closely with integration partner New Toronto Group, we hit our efficiency and service targets,” says Debbie Schuett, project manager for COM DEV.

Use.com, one of the fastest-growing image hosting sites on the Internet, provides users with a quick and easy way to upload, edit, share and link photos.
NTG was chosen to help Use.com build a Flex-based bulk image uploader. Previously, Use.com users were limited to uploading two images at a time. As the popularity of the site sky rocketed, there was a need to enable users to select multiple images for quick and easy uploading. By using Flex, NTG was able to seamlessly integrate the new uploader into Use.com’s image hosting site.
When Use.com had an additional requirement to enable image editing, they again turned to NTG for help in creating Flex based Image Editor that would allow users to add speech bubbles, resize, rotate and crop their photos.

Fluid Galleries 3, a Flex-based web site manager that allows professional photographers to create, manage and host a portfolio website online, is now available. Fluid Galleries now offers unparalleled freedom to create professional-looking websites without needing to know Flash, HTML or any other web development languages. By simply pointing, clicking and dragging, photographers can create and brand a truly unique web experience for their customers to view their work.
NTG was chosen by Evrium for our strong Flex-based application development experience and our ability to take a sophisticated UI vision and realize it in a fast and robust application. We also leveraged our expertise with Adobe BlazeDS, Java, MySql and Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) to make our client’s vision a reality.
